What are Boundaries?
Boundaries are protective limits that preserve emotional, spiritual, mental and physical well-being. They define what behaviour is acceptable and how such closeness should develop within a relationship. Boundaries do not replace purity and self-control. Rather, they express and reinforce these qualities in the practical setting of a relationship. Proverbs 4:23 emphasises the importance of guarding the heart, highlighting the protective role boundaries play in sustaining healthy and God- relationships. While boundaries regulate how two people relate and interact, purity and self-control govern what takes place within or inside that person.
