07.05.19 The 1st Practice for Developing Personal Emotional Healing and Forgiveness as You Wait Face Your Pain with Honesty and Courage
1. Face Your Pain with Honesty and Courage
Acknowledge the pain you have experienced in past relationships. Do not minimise it or pretend that things are the way you wish. Be honest with yourself about what you feel, recognising that healing begins when you face your pain. Avoid masking disappointments with constant activity or distraction. Instead, confront your feelings with courage.
Allow yourself to feel and understand your emotions rather than suppressing them. Honest reflection helps you to process what you have experienced, releasing what may have been buried and preventing past experiences from shaping your future responses. This creates room for clarity and emotional restoration. As you go through this process, know that God is with you on this journey, if you can let Him. See what Psalm 34:18 says (NIV): “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”.
Facing your pain strengthens your inner resilience, preparing you to move forward with freedom and emotional readiness.
