2. Regulate Your Emotions Before You Respond
Develop the discipline to slow down and filter your emotions through wisdom, before you speak or react. Practise pausing and taking a moment to breathe, pray in your heart and reflect, before responding to difficult conversations. This habit can prevent arguments from escalating and help you express your perspective with clarity. A calm response preserves dignity and protects relationships.
In order to keep your conversations constructive, learn to respond thoughtfully rather than impulsively. Your words should be intentional and respectful. Proverbs 29:11 highlights the value of emotional restraint. That verse reads (ESV): “a fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back”. By regulating your emotions, you keep your self-control intact thence strengthening your relationships
