07.04.01 Introducing Nurturing Behaviour

Introducing Nurturing Behaviour

People thrive when they feel emotionally safe, valued and supported; but suffer when criticised, dismissed or unappreciated. Strong relationships involve actions that demonstrate care, respect and responsibility. It is through how people interact, communicate and behave that individuals reveal whether they are capable of generating stability and emotional well-being in a courtship and marriage relationship. That is where the concept of 'nurturing' comes in.

In this chapter, I will briefly outline how nurturing behaviour works in our marriage. Referring to the fictitious story of Nancy and Michael as well as the biblical account of Elizabeth and Zechariah, we will share insights on evaluating a prospective partner’s nurturing behaviour; and how to develop such behaviour as you wait.
