Purpose
This tool helps you evaluate whether a prospective marriage partner understands how people experience love differently and whether he or she demonstrates the attentiveness, emotional awareness and flexibility necessary to express love in ways that strengthen emotional connection and security.
Instructions
Rate the prospective partner against each of the following indicators based on your observations, interactions and experiences. Circle the score that best reflects your assessment.

Interpreting Your Score

|---|---|
| 41–50 | Strong Evidence of Emotional Awareness and Relational Attentiveness. The person demonstrates a healthy understanding of how love is expressed and received. |
| 31–40 | Generally Positive but Requires Further Observation. The person demonstrates several encouraging qualities, though some areas require closer observation. |
| 21–30 | Proceed with Caution. Important weaknesses may affect the person's ability to meet another person's emotional needs consistently. |
| 10–20 | Significant Concerns Exist. The person demonstrates multiple indicators associated with limited emotional awareness or poor application of love languages. |
Part A: Evidence from Observation

Part B: Learning from Margaret, Fabian and Lucas
