Introducing Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is one of the major indicators of maturity and preparedness for a stable courtship and marriage relationship. That kind of intelligence determines the extent to which a person interprets his or her own feelings and responds under pressure while relating with other people. Many partnerships struggle because they misread emotional cues, respond defensively or fail to handle sensitive issues with wisdom.
In this chapter, I will briefly highlight how emotional intelligence has works our marriage. Drawing from the fictitious story of Evelyn and Julius, together with the biblical account of Boaz and Ruth, we will share insights on evaluating a prospective partner’s emotional intelligence; how to develop that kind of intelligence as you wait.
