What are Love Languages?
The commonly recognised love languages are ‘quality time’, ‘words of affirmation’, ‘acts of service’, ‘gift-giving’ and ‘physical touch’, albeit within godly boundaries. ‘Quality time’ involves intentional presence and meaningful interaction, where attention is given without distraction. While ‘words of affirmation’ include verbal encouragement and appreciation displayed through verbal encouragement and words of gratitude; ‘acts of service’ express care through practical support, for example assisting with tasks or responsibilities. ‘Gift-giving’ symbolises thoughtfulness, where the act reflects attention and consideration rather than the mere material value of the item. ‘Physical touch’ conveys affection through appropriate closeness including actions like holding hands or embracing, although such gestures should not be entertained before marriage.
