09.05.19 The 2nd Practice for Developing Social Maturity and Healthy Systems as You Wait

2. Maintain a Healthy Social Balance

Social maturity grows as you learn to maintain a healthy balance in your social life. Therefore, during your waiting season, pay close attention to how you naturally relate to others. If you tend to isolate yourself, make a deliberate effort to build a few meaningful and supportive friendships. If you usually expose too much of your life to many people, learn to limit what you share. Instead, identify one or two wise mentors who can offer guidance.

The Bible teaches us that a person who desires friendship must show himself friendly and that true friends can offer loyalty and support like a brother (Proverbs 18:24). Therefore, aim to remain connected to the relevant people, without becoming dependent on constant social interaction or approval. Balanced social involvement allows you to build supportive relationships while preserving personal stability and sound judgement in your decisions.
