09.05.18 The 1st Practice for Developing Social Maturity and Healthy Systems as You Wait
1. Strengthen your Social Maturity and Communication Skills
Communication is the backbone of every relationship Therefore, developing social maturity begins with strengthening the way you communicate and relate to others. In this waiting season, practise expressing your thoughts and needs clearly while showing respect for the perspectives of others. Pay attention to how you listen, respond and manage disagreements in everyday interactions. As said in many places in these series, your conversation should always be full of grace and seasoned with wisdom so that you know how to answer everyone (Colossians 4:6).
Learn to recognise nonverbal signals such as tone, posture and facial expression and adjust your responses accordingly. Be honest when a matter requires clarity and exercise restraint where information does not need to be shared. These habits strengthen your ability to relate with others in a thoughtful and responsible manner. As you cultivate self-awareness and recognise areas for improvement, your interactions with others gradually become more balanced, respectful and constructive.
