10.05.25 The 5th Practice for Developing Personal Character Before Marriage as You Wait
5. Live Consistently With Personal Values
In your waiting season, make personal transformation a daily lifestyle rather than a temporary effort. Prioritise becoming the right partner rather than focusing only on finding one. Let your values be expressed consistently in speech, behaviour, relationships, finances, discipline and decision-making, until ‘good character’ becomes your way of life. Learn to guard your heart carefully because everything you do flows from there (Proverbs 4:23).
Allow your life to reflect what you claim to believe without needing to announce it. With time, readiness becomes evident through consistent conduct. This prepares you for a meaningful relationship because you are not trying to persuade someone to remain. You are building a life that can sustain trust, stability and honour.
