10.05.21 The 1st Practice for Developing Personal Character Before Marriage as You Wait
1. Practise Honesty and Transparency
In your waiting season, cultivate honesty in every area of your life, not only in relationships. Speak the truth, even when it is uncomfortable. Be a person of your word. In other words, make sure that your words and actions are aligned so that you build credibility. Instead of allowing the fear of driving someone away to distort, shape or compromise your decisions, stick to the truth (Ephesians 4:25). Such an approach makes you dependable.
Learn to always be clear and transparent about who you are, what you stand for and what your ‘zero tolerance’ areas are. People should know your ‘no go’ zones. That gives people accurate information about you rather than leaving them to operate on assumptions. Your authenticity attracts people who respect integrity.
