3. Embrace Correction and Mentorship

In your preparation period, position yourself around people who can strengthen your growth. Seek guidance from spiritually mature and emotionally stable individuals who can help you identify weaknesses early and address those gaps wisely. Ask for feedback, receive correction without defensiveness and respond with humility when you are challenged. Proverbs 12:1 says (NKJV): ) “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid”.

Refuse to excuse repeated mistakes. Instead, learn from them. Adjust your conduct and allow your growth to be reflected through visible changes rather than explanations as ‘talking is cheap’. Do not fear asking for help, because mentorship shortens the time you take to mature. As you grow, your relationships reflect greater wisdom, self-awareness and intentional decision-making and you become more grounded and consistent in the way you relate with others.
