10.04.25 The 5th Practice for Developing a Teamwork Mindset as You Wait

5. Learn to Adjust Your Responsibilities Fairly and Flexibly

During this season of waiting, recognise that responsibilities shift as seasons change. Team members will not always function at the same capacity. Also, some seasons will require more support while others require less. Learn to recognise such changes early and respond with maturity rather than resentment, because flexibility makes it easy for members to cooperate with you. Be ready to act in humility, valuing others above yourself and looking not only to your own interests but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:3–4).

Adjustments are best handled through honest conversation rather than silence. Therefore, learn how to discuss responsibilities openly, so that any necessary changes are made fairly and with consideration. In the same way, learn to communicate clearly when your capacity is strained, so that you express your limits with maturity rather than through withdrawal or bitterness.

As you grow, develop the ability to remain cooperative when requirements shift. Become consistent even when change disrupts your routine. This prepares you to build a stable partnership where responsibilities can be adjusted wisely without conflict or silent resentment.
