10.04.21 The 1st Practice for Developing a Teamwork Mindset as You Wait

1. Develop Initiative in Contributing to Teams

As you wait, intentionally place yourself in team environments where you can practise shared responsibility. For instance, you could join a youth group, church choir, women’s ministry fellowship, men’s fellowship, savings scheme or any organised community where people work toward a common goal. Instead of participating as a spectator, be open to learning how to cooperate consistently with other members and contribute meaningfully to the group, demonstrating diligence and readiness in service.

Develop the discipline of taking initiative by becoming the kind of person who notices what must be done and responds without being pushed. In a team setting, maturity is seen in how you step in early, support what is already in motion and follow through without disturbing the order of the group. This gradually shapes you into a reliable person who contributes with consistency, awareness and responsibility.

Approach responsibilities as opportunities to strengthen cooperation, trust and partnership rather than as burdens. Embrace your role willingly and remain consistently engaged rather than contributing only when it suits your schedule. These habits will prepare you to function in a relationship with shared effort, involvement and responsible contribution.
