10.03.26 The 6th Practice for Developing Financial Readiness as You Wait

6. Prepare for Financial Partnership

In your waiting season, cultivate a steady lifestyle of learning, planning and disciplined management of resources. Develop financial goals that reflect available resources. Work consistently toward those goals and review progress regularly so that your progress is evident. Avoid relying on superficial appearances, assumptions or wishful thinking. Being faithful in small responsibilities prepares you for greater trust (Luke 16:10).

Where necessary and as said already, enrol in a short course that equips you with practical knowledge and confidence in how to handle finances in a responsibly and worthwhile manner. By the time a potential spouse surfaces, you will be prepared to pursue marriage with financial stability and direction through wisdom, honesty, self-control and shared responsibility.
