10.02.19 The 1st Practice for Developing Personal Responsibility and Accountability as You Wait

1. Strengthen Personal Ownership

In your waiting season, train yourself to clarify duties and expectations before beginning any assignment. Ask what you are required to deliver, confirm the timeline and clarify the expected standard, so that you begin with accuracy rather than assumptions. This discipline protects you from preventable misunderstandings and helps you plan your time and resources appropriately.

Cultivate the discipline of taking full ownership of every commitment you accept, whether at work, in ministry, in family settings or within your team. Treat every commitment as an assignment that must be completed with care and consistency, not one that can be postponed without consequences. People should find you to be faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2). This will strengthen your reliability and build a reputation for dependability long before marriage becomes a consideration.
