2. Practise Encouraging Others

Create a culture where you encourage others sincerely and generously, without overdoing it. Be natural and realistic. Offer words that acknowledge people’s efforts, growth and positive actions. Let your encouragement be specific, genuine and timely so that it strengthens one’s confidence and affirms the value of the people you interact with. Consistent affirmation builds a supportive and uplifting environment where individuals feel seen and appreciated.

Rather than only recognising the end result, celebrate small steps, acknowledging the person’s perseverance and affirming his or her meaningful contributions. Such encouragement enhances emotional safety and motivates the growth of the people you are interacting with. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 instructs us to strengthen one another. It says (ESV): “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing”.

Through encouraging people consistently, you become a source of support, appreciation, confidence, positivity and shared growth. Your presence uplifts others and strengthens trust in relationships.
