CHAPTER 3: LOVE LANGUAGES
The concept of love languages was introduced through contemporary teachings on relationships, as a way of explaining how people differ in expressing and experiencing affection. These ‘languages’ provide a framework for understanding emotional needs rather than assuming that ‘love’ should be expressed or received in one universal way.
In this chapter, I will briefly explain how understanding love languages works in our marriage. Through the fictitious story of Margaret and Fabian and the biblical account of Elkanah and Hannah, we will offer advice on evaluating a prospective partner’s understanding and application of love languages; and how to develop that understanding and application as you wait.
