04.07.01 Introducing How to Become a Value-Adding Businesswoman
Adding value to a business is indispensably important for building your commercial prowess. In fact, ‘value addition’ is a critical success factor for any business, given that it increases the ‘perceived value’ of your product or service which in essence determines the amount that a customer is prepared to pay. A product that is perceived to be of higher value attracts more customers and even a higher price, thereby increasing your revenue, profits and other related benefits. That is how ‘value addition’ benefits you, your business, customers and other people involved.
In this chapter, we discuss the value that I added to my cosmetics business; and how Lydia, who has also been discussed in chapter 5, actually added value to her business of making and selling purple dyes and fabric.
