14. Share the Gospel with Outsiders

My memory goes back to the time I was invited to train employees of a certain organisation. Surprisingly, one of my participants, albeit an employee, happened to be a pastor. My sister, I was so amazed to hear that much as I did not mention ‘Jesus’ directly during the training, our participants would approach him after our sessions, requesting that he prays for them to get saved. And indeed, many became born-again.

When we look at Lydia's story and how the church grew to the extent of having bishops and deacons (Philippians 1:1), she and her fellow church members must have had a strong evangelical team that would share the gospel with the community and bring people to the Lord. In addition, they fervently supported Paul’s evangelical programs as shown in Philippians 1:5 which says (AMPC): ⁵[I thank my God] for your fellowship (your sympathetic cooperation and contributions and partnership) in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day [you heard it] until now.

A value-adding church member shares the gospel with others, thereby winning souls and expanding God’s kingdom on earth (1 Corinthians 9:16).

Therefore, at a personal level, set a goal to witness to a set number of people within a time period, maybe one person a week. Also, using the right approach to minister to children can attract parents thereby creating a window for you to share Christ with them (parents). Another way you could get involved is by sponsoring crusades and other forms of evangelism events that are planned by your church. You could also get directly involved in evangelistic missions.
