6. Make Wise Choices
Ruth valued her relationship with Naomi so much that she chose to return with the mother-in-law to Bethlehem rather than leaving her to go desolate, lonely and childless. She (Ruth) also agreed to get married to Boaz which earned Naomi a high value before her community (Ruth 4:14). When you follow that story, it shows that Ruth made a wise choice.
The ability to make choices that favour your parents can indicate the value that you attach to them. A child who makes wise choices makes her parents proud and saves them the embarrassment, reproach and dishonour that could arise from her bad decisions (Proverbs 17:25, NET). See what Proverbs 23: 25b says (AMP): 25… let her who gave birth to you rejoice [in your wise and godly choices].
