08.04.23 The 4th Practice for Developing Readiness for Progress and Development as You Wait Build Emotional, Financial and Personal Independence

4. Build Emotional, Financial and Personal Independence

Learn to develop and manage your emotions, decisions and responsibilities without relying excessively on others. Independence strengthens partnership by preventing emotional overdependence and unnecessary pressure.

Develop the ability to manage your emotions, decisions and responsibilities responsibly. Healthy independence strengthens your ability to contribute meaningfully within a relationship. It allows you to participate as a confident and capable partner. Scripture emphasises the value of personal responsibility and diligent effort, reminding believers that “if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Such maturity strengthens the stability of the partnership while preserving individuality and personal responsibility. This balance often increases respect and attraction within the relationship.
