08.02.20 The 2nd Practice for Developing a Growth Mindset in Daily Relationship Life as You Wait Learn from Experiences Through Intentional Reflection
2. Learn from Experiences Through Intentional Reflection
Treat your experiences as material for growth rather than simply events to recount. Every misunderstanding, disagreement or difficult season carries lessons that can strengthen maturity if they are examined thoughtfully. Instead of moving quickly past such moments, take time to reflect on what the situation revealed about communication, expectations or personal responses. Ask how the experience might refine patience, faith or emotional awareness. Reflection transforms ordinary experiences into opportunities for development. Scripture encourages this habit of self-examination, urging us to “examine our ways and test them” (Lamentations 3:40). Over time, this practice deepens wisdom and strengthens the ability to respond more constructively in future situations.
