08.01.20 The 1st Practice for Developing Intellectual Maturity as You Wait Practise Thoughtful Decision-Making

1. Practise Thoughtful Decision-making

When faced with relational decisions, resist the urge to respond immediately. Slow down your decision-making process and give yourself permission to think. Take time to observe patterns carefully, consider the situation from different angles and allow yourself space to reflect before reaching conclusions. Thoughtful decision-making requires patience and deliberate evaluation rather than hurried responses. Slowing down is not a weakness; it is a mark of maturity. It creates room to examine facts, understand perspectives and weigh possible outcomes. Scripture encourages this careful approach, reminding us to “ponder the path of your feet and let all your ways be established” (Proverbs 4:26). When you allow time for thoughtful reflection, your decisions become more deliberate and better grounded.
