08.02.19 The 1st Practice for Developing a Growth Mindset in Daily Relationship Life as You Wait Cultivate a Growth Mindset
1. Cultivate a Growth Mindset
Apply growth to daily responsibilities and approach challenges with deliberate intention. Address issues rather than responding complacently or repeating patterns that do not strengthen the relationship. A growth mindset begins with recognising that everyday attitudes and responses gradually shape the quality of a relationship. Small habits of communication, patience and responsibility accumulate over time and influence how partners handle expectations, concerns and disagreements. Instead of ignoring difficulties or reacting defensively, approach situations with a willingness to learn and improve. Scripture encourages such continual development, reminding believers to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Allow ordinary interactions to become opportunities to strengthen understanding, responsibility and emotional maturity. When growth becomes part of daily behaviour, it gradually prepares you for the responsibilities and decisions that accompany marriage.
