08.04.22 The 3rd Practice for Developing Readiness for Progress and Development as You Wait Develop Skills, Habits and Disciplines that Support Your Purpose
3. Develop Skills, Habits and Disciplines that Support Your Purpose
Acquire and build skills, habits and disciplines that support your purpose. Growth requires intentional investment in knowledge, skills and character. Whether through education, training, spiritual disciplines, financial planning or emotional development, improvement must be continuous.
Commit yourself to consistent personal development. Invest deliberately in the knowledge, skills and character that strengthen your calling. Scripture affirms the value of excellence and diligence, observing that “a man who excels in his work will stand before kings” (Proverbs 22:29). Such investment increases confidence and capability. It equips you to handle challenges responsibly and recognise opportunities when they arise. Continued growth strengthens the foundation upon which your future will be built.
