Absence or Non-Adherence to Organisational Structure
Simply put, an organisational structure is a framework that portrays how work activities will flow throughout an organisation so as to achieve a certain goal.
The fact that we see Moses delegating the management of the camp to Aaron shows that there definitely was an organisational structure in place among the children of Israel at the time. This is also in reference to the guidance that Moses had received from Jethro as elaborated earlier. Therefore, the fact that Aaron was swayed to go by what the masses advised could imply that he did not adhere to the structure that Moses had set up.
Looking at our JuaLink story, the director of business development, Eliya, was not firmly adhering to the Agency’s organisational structure either; given that he would turn a blind eye whenever Lulu bypassed Faraja and ferried gossip straight to Eliya, on issues that would have normally been in Faraja’s docket.
Therefore, the absence or non-adherence of supervisors and, of course, team members to a set organisational structure can create disorderliness and clashes that could, in effect, be a fertile breeding ground for negative gossip.
