Faraja’s Shining Performance

With Neema working hard under Faraja’s direct supervision, the performance of the publicity department skyrocketed. In fact, Eliya would frequently and openly acknowledge Faraja’s outstanding contributions, pushing Lulu’s jealousy to unimaginable levels. From there, the publicity officer strove to catch Eliya’s attention by keeping him posted about Faraja’s shortcomings, most of which would be false, minor or unfounded. When that did not work, Lulu conjured up a rumour that Eliya and Faraja had been dating since their ‘university days’; and that the director had actually lobbied for Faraja’s recruitment at JuaLink. When the rumour landed in Faraja’s ears, there was nowhere to report since JuaLink did not have a defined procedure for handling such grievances.

Eliya tried to salvage the situation by conducting self-assessment sessions for his team hoping that Lulu would diagnose ‘negative gossiping’ as her weakness. But that landed on deaf ears since the publicity officer would always hide behind the excuse that ‘people’ were ‘witch-hunting’ her.
