05.01.12 Part 10 of How Negative Gossip Almost Took My Life

The Miracle of the Property Sale and An Arrogant Indian Businessman

Several years before the defamatory rumour had ever surfaced, a mother figure and one of my mentors had presented an opportunity to sell a property to our consultancy firm, adding that even if I was not to use it, we could sell it one day in case we faced a financial challenge. That was how our organisation had acquired a prime property at a very low price. Little did we know that some years down the track, the property would come in real handy.

Therefore, when the defamatory rumour continued to sink us deeper and deeper into a mud-pool, we had no option but to release that property. Looking back, we needed the money urgently since our children’s fees were due plus my medical bills had started to escalate; and of course other administration and subsistence expenses as well. That was when our family friend connected us to an Indian who demanded for the land titles. The hitch though, was that he was only ready to give us 25% of the value and even then, we would have to wait.

Soon thereafter, our friend landed on a buyer who was ready to pay a handsome amount for the same property. So, our colleague took it upon himself to fast and pray that the Indian returns the land titles to us. That miracle happened just as our friend had declared. In short, when our friend asked the Indian for the last instalment, the irritated businessman demanded that we refund his first deposit, handing the titles back to us; after which we sold the land for a good price. That is how we got finances for the children’s fees, my treatment and subsistence at the time.
