Watch What You Say
In order to avoid enhancing or joining negative gossip, mind what you say because by doing so, you will keep yourself out of trouble. If at all you must respond to a rumour brought by a negative gossiper, sieve your words with caution since ‘words once said are irretrievable’.
In Exodus 32:2, we see Aaron experiencing challenges with guarding his mouth rather than refraining from ‘answering’ the rebellious crowd. Let us take another look at that scripture. It says (NIV): 2Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” I would like to infer that Aaron said the first thing that crossed his mind, without contemplating the reactions of the God who Aaron already knew about.
