6. ‘Silent Treatment’
You may remember how Tibaine decided to make his words scarce, in the wake of having misunderstandings with his wife Desta. Her desires to eat out were out-of-balance with Tibaine’s aspirations to save every dime so that the couple could pay for their mortgage. Do you recall how Tibaine had decided to punish Desta by going on a ‘talking strike’? The man had forgotten that by doing that, he would push Desta into silence; leading to a stalemate.
When people let you know that you have offended them, it is usually to your advantage; since it highlights areas where you can improve, thereby helping you become a better person. Entertaining positive feedback is one important way that you can develop your character. Therefore, rather than opting to give people the ‘cold shoulder’, you may be better off appreciating that someone was bold enough to tell you how you hurt them.
