03.06.10 The 9th Organisational Consequence of Corruption

9. Promotion of Inequality

Corruption fuels inequality in communities, by heaping money in the pockets of the fraudulent few; and, as the rich get richer, the poor get poorer.  Consequentially, money-loaded customers get served whilst the poor are discriminated against.  A case in point was where, despite Daudi’s many assets, the Engineer cum politician could not rest until he had snatched the only one piece of land that a poor citizen had remaining; regardless of the fact the Daudi was well-aware that the land owner was selling his property to get funds for treating a sick child!  Such a cruel lack of compassion by a leader is captured in a verse mentioned earlier, Proverbs 28:15, which compares those leaders to roaring animals that go for the food of the poor thereby threatening their livelihood and survival!
