Making the Word of God Ineffective

Daudi was a church goer, and moreover, a minister on the pulpit.  However, the way things turned out clearly shows that the Word of God was not working in his life.  Needless to say, all Daudi’s faith confessions must have been hitting the wall and bouncing back unattended.  His prayers were not yielding any fruit…, they had gone inert..., refusing to deliver!  Who would ever want to be in such a position?

Daudi’s predicament is not surprising since, as already said in the previous chapter, engaging in corruptive activities is equivalent to despising and rejecting God’s Word; which, obviously, would make that Word ineffective. 

The reason why we do not entertain corruption is not only because we have never felt pressed to do so.  In fact, there are times when bribery could have solved a number of our problems.  But we do not participate in corruption because the Word of God says that we shouldn’t, period.  And, because we accept and respect that Word, we obey it with no arguments or questions asked.
