5. Exposing your ‘Dirty Linen’ in Public
Daudi never ever dreamt that a day will dawn when his dirty whims would be laid out on the street for the entire world to see. Obviously, he was not reading his Bible; at least not Luke 8:17 where Jesus Himself declared that (AMPC): …there is nothing hidden that shall not be disclosed, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come out into the open. Luke 12:3 goes even deeper by saying that whatever we have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what we have whispered or spoken in people’s ears and inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. And, who doesn’t know that corrupt discussions are habitually held in whispers, in private, behind closed doors? The Message Translation of Luke 12:3 reads (MSG): … You can’t keep your true self hidden forever; before long you’ll be exposed. You can’t hide behind a religious mask forever; sooner or later the mask will slip and your true face will be known. You can’t whisper one thing in private and preach the opposite in public; the day’s coming when those whispers will be repeated all over town.
Daudi must have downplayed the fact that heaven had him under constant divine surveillance; and that the invisible Super Power was monitoring him by the micro-second; tracking each and every bit of the Engineer’s movements. See what Proverbs 5:21-23 says (MSG): Mark well that God doesn’t miss a move you make; he’s aware of every step you take. The shadow of your sin will overtake you; you’ll find yourself stumbling all over yourself in the dark. Death is the reward of an undisciplined life; your foolish decisions trap you in a dead end.
Therefore, people should never be fooled that God turns a blind eye or deaf ear as they freely engage in corruptive activities, left, right and centre. The truth of the matter is, God is very aware of their tricks; and knows them to the finest detail. Consider what Amos 5:11-13 says (NKJV); 12For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: Afflicting the just and taking bribes. Notice how the scripture emphasizes that God ‘knows’ a person’s engagement in bribery.
Another thing that corrupt people overlook is that we are required to always account for the money, time, relationships and other resources that God grants us. Hebrews 4:13 reads (AMP): And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him with whom we have to give account. Now, if you have either given out or received resources through corrupt means, how will you face God and account for them? What will you tell Him?
