7. The Excuse that ‘Everyone Does It’

In some places, the excuse that ‘everyone does it’ has become so rampant that it has caused some people to succumb to corruption.  They use that excuse in an attempt to justify why they give or receive bribes.  But Exodus 23:2 is very clear about God’s view concerning this.  It says (NKJV): You shall not follow a crowd to do evil…. 

Sadly, despite knowing God’s views against the vice; peer pressure, fear, panic or even rebellion have driven some people to engage in corruptive activities so as to evade impending doom or make their lives easier and less burdensome.
