About the Course


As part of the 2023 internal capacity building agenda, ECOTRUST has identified an international program providing the 40 Tools for Building an Effective, Efficient and Growing Workforce and registered all 30 key staff to participate in both the online and face-to-face trainings over a period of 6 months (Oct-Dec 2023- March 2024). This training may be extended to beyond the six-months period initially stated, given that a normal staggered program runs for 11 months.

The training uses edutainment to highlight the challenges that employees encounter at work and convey solutions that a career person can easily identify with.

The program content draws from a wide body of technical knowledge, to teach and expound on sound and practical tools so that participants are equipped to display ‘best practices at all levels of operation.

By the end of the training, it is expected that you will be able to:


Define each 'Tool or best practice' and how it applies to your personal situation, work, and other aspects of your environment

Identify the symptoms of bad practices in the workplace

Diagnose the causes of bad practices; and the challenges that lead to the manifestations of those practices

Identify and commit to practical solutions or action(s) for addressing those challenges, so as to display 'best practices' thence 'excellence', in line with the expectations of the clients.

Training Methods

Pre-course Preparation and Engagement


Once enrolled, you will be able to access the Online Content at Joy Nyabongo Resource Centre (JNRC) to prepare for the ‘face-to-face’ trainings i.e. videos and Assignments. It is highly recommended that you access the content at least 2 weeks before the training date; so that you get enough time to go through the tools, respond to questions in the Forms and discuss with peers. The Facilitator will give you time to discuss with your peers during the face-to-face session(s).


Face-to-Face Sessions with the Facilitator


The main method of delivery will be ‘consultative forums’ using the responses that the participants will have given to the facilitator prior to attending the course. Group discussions will be used to further customize the training to your needs. Adult training methods will be used to ensure an effective and efficient learning experience.


Personal Consultations


During each of the one-week face-to-face trainings, you may book a slot during the week if you wish, for private consultations with the facilitator; on issues that may be too private or confidential for you to air out openly in a class setting.


WhatsApp Group


You and your fellow participants will form a WhatsApp Group where feedback will be shared on the progress of the pre-course preparations and any other relevant material. Participants will be divided into virtual groups to prepare presentations to be made during the course.

Personalised Assignments


During the face-to-face training, and for each of the 40 Tools discussed, you will commit in writing, to three things that you will start/stop/continue doing (i.e., SMART changes that you will implement as a result of attending the Course). You will also get an opportunity to share your success story and challenge(s) in subsequent Phases, since the course is staggered.


Certificates


Certificates will be given to participants who complete our Assignments.
